At Sera, we’re proud to offer innovative products that meet the needs of our customers. To help us continue expanding our offerings, we’re in search of an experienced Head of Consumer Products to lead a multidisciplinary team engaged in the development and launching of digital applications and consumer driven laboratory tests. The ideal candidate will have an eye for identifying gaps in consumer product offerings and an innovative mindset for filling them. This person should be a highly skilled market analyst with a proven ability to strategize the full lifecycle of a product, from conception to release and post-launch monitoring for improvement. We’re looking for a confident leader who can guide cross-functional teams in the creation of products that improve customer experience and grow market share.

Remote, limited to the following states: AZ, CA, CO, FL, ME, NC, NY, TX, & WA.

Responsibilities
- Drive Sera’s consumer products division and business-planning processes with cross- functional teams (product strategy, product development process, product innovation).
- Analyze customer needs, current market trends, and potential partnerships from an ROI and build-vs.-buy perspective.
- Assess current competitor offerings and seek opportunities for differentiation.
- Analyze product requirements and develop appropriate programs to ensure they’re met.
- Collaborate with Project Management to develop, implement, and maintain production timelines across multiple departments.
- Appraise new consumer product ideas and strategize appropriate go-to-market plans.
- Ensure the execution of all processes in the product lifecycle, including product and market research, competitor analysis, planning, positioning, requirements and roadmap development, and product launch.
- Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for prototyping and final development by engineering teams.
- Create product strategy documents that describe business cases, high-level use cases, technical requirements, revenue, and ROI.
- Analyze market data to develop sales strategies, and define product objectives for effective marketing communications.
- Collaborate closely with digital product development, data science, laboratory, IT, commercial, QA/RA, Finance and others in release of products, and balance resources to ensure success for the entire organization.
- Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates Sera across primary market segments.
- Identify and engage in mutually beneficial partnership opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business or product design or engineering
- Previous experience in laboratory and/or digital products/tech industry is required
- Proven success in overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle for digital and laboratory products
- Must have adequate Technical Skills to master all aspects of Sera’s products including laboratory testing and software development, design, and validation.
- Must have strong Business Acumen to understand company goals, market trends, and customer needs to develop a successful product strategy.
- Must have exceptional Leadership Skills to lead and engage a team of professionals from cross-functional teams and be comfortable making decisions and taking responsibility for the product’s success.
- Must have excellent Communication Skills to be effective at engaging with stakeholders, including executives, cross-functional teams, and customers, to ensure that everyone is aligned with the product’s goals.
- Must have Analytical Skills to review product metrics and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to increase adoption and revenue.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in the women’s health industry is a plus.
- Experience in regulated environment is highly desirable (CAP, CLIA, NYS, FDA, ISO).
Benefits for Full-Time Employees
- Dependent on experience and qualifications, the salary range for this role is $225,000 – $250,000 with a 15% annual incentive bonus based on achieving objectives.
